Mars Colonization opening in 2 hours!

We have received news from the MBC (Martian Broadcast Center) that supply satellites have safely come into orbit after a few kinks in the plan occurred on Saturday:
On Saturday, what had happened was that the supply rocket ran into a communication gap while orbiting Mars. This is well-known and there's an 8-minute communication gap every orbit. The only issue was that the communication gap occurred right as Space Control Center on Mars (SCC-MARS) was sending deployment instructions. Furthermore, right at the same time, a solar storm hit Mars, causing an even longer loss in connection.
Thankfully, the orbital computer is well-protected in every Antarctican satellite and it was able to maintain the orbit while the communication gap occurred. Electronics were restored as of 3:34 AM EDT today.
The supply ship landed about 5 miles northwest of the HAB, in a planned landing site surrounded by various spherical modules for future town formation. It was retrieved as of 8:47 AM EDT today.
The mapping is ready, and landing sites are positioned throughout Mars with full communication ready. Mars Colonization will re-open in approximately 2 hours from now.

McMurdo Sees Civil Twilight

As of today (August 1, as the station is still under Australian time), McMurdo station will start seeing Civil Twilight. Over the next 20 days, it'll get brighter and brighter, until finally on August 19, the sun will rise for the first time and will be visible over the observation deck.

However, as of now, the temperature will remain cold, with the most recent report indicating temperatures at a frigid -14 C. For some reason, webcam data also seems to have broken down, so the image above is on July 29th, just after noon McMurdo time.

Magnus Troll Clickbait

There has been rumors going around that Magnus will actually play the World Chess Championship (WCC) based on the title of this video by chess24. However, this is not the case. Magnus seems to have been "trolling" about something a bit different based on a different instagram post - and he clearly says that he doesn't want to force the "legacy" ideal too much.
Therefore, our Antarctican researchers can confirm that this title is there just as clickbait so people can view the video way more. However, the clickbait hasn't been that effective so far, since the video has just over 100k views, which is far from viral.

SavageAntarctican Spotted?

It looks like the lichess account SavageAntarctican has been reopened. The only person who could have done this is... @A_0123456??? How did this happen? More information will come out in the next few days, but until then, this news instills hope that finally, such a nostalgic account will be re-opened.
