I think Lichess should have a delay time control

Many other sites have it. Delay could add a new addition to the site.
@Luminosity

Because you could flag in a losing position. Delay would allow you to use the time if needed, but you wouldn't be able to accumulate seconds (or minutes). The 40 move tactic in classical chess.
Delay is lousy, it’s the American solution to increment. Doesn’t exist in fide anyways.
@XeroChess “Don’t exist in Fide” is not an argument. Online chess is a different animal. For instance, in online chess you can touch your pieces as many times as you want: no “touch-move” rule here! Oh, and you get free advice on illegal moves too!
So it takes now twice as long in mm because I want increment and some person wants delay?
uhh so what itll take 10 seconds to match make instead of 5? Its a decent idea, there are alot of other time controls and variants why not have it for the people who want it...
Should we also implement imperial units as an option as well as metric so scientists can misfire a rocket and lands in your house and blows you, your friends, and your family into smitherines?
Great logic my friend, let’s add delay so we can americanize the world.
Is delay a time control where you always have, say 30 sekonds, for a move? You can make one with the custom time control. Set start time short and increment to what you want. Set the increment so that you feel time pressure, then it will not accumulate much.
My understanding of delay is the time that would have been added to your clock. So if you have 5 minutes on your clock and 3 seconds would have been added, you don't get 5:02 if you make a move in one second. Your clock just doesn't go down to 4:59. Please correct me if I am wrong. I don't think it is something where 30 seconds would be the delay. That seems too extreme.
