Taiwan's first ever Grandmaster

Raymond Song (New Zealand, 1994) has become the first grandmaster in Taiwanese chess history.

Here you are one of his latest games:
GM Raymond Song vs. CM John Stark, 18th Malaysian Open.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2023.08.28).
It's not a great game, but it's interesting from the point of view of positional imbalance (Black took almost all of the pieces to the queenside). On the other hand, it seems incredible that, with so many millions of inhabitants, the first Taiwanese to obtain the title of chess grandmaster has just appeared.
Congratulations to GM Raymond Song. I hope he continues to reap successes so we can learn more about him.
