Reporting Anonymous

I believe there should be a system in place to prevent verbal abuse from Anonymous players - perhaps tracking IP or otherwise, so we can flag them for abuse.
Anonymous is defined as "Having no distinctive character or recognition factor" (wordlink.com).

If we tracked anonymous' IPs or other identifiable info, they wouldn't be anonymous.

So no. This will not be implemented.

You can chose not to play anonymous players. You can additionally turn off the chat box if you do play with such players.

CA
You can also get over it because it's some random anonymous loser on the Internet, and who cares what they have to say?
Great job victim-blaming all :) you the real mvp

just because we don't know who they are, doesn't mean the site can't. anonymous to us doesn't mean anonymous to them.
Even if the site does, it shouldn't have to care. This is a site for playing chess, you have the option to disable the chat if you don't want to receive messages. It is a waste of time to have moderators moderate anonymous chat.
Perhaps the Anonymous chat could have a thumbs down button, that together with the IP would also take into consideration the browser version. For example if I'm on Google Chrome version 45 and I get multiple flagged (thumbs down) then I can wait for a new browser release to get around the ban.
This is why we need further internet surveillance and tracking methods. You shouldn't be able to get away with verbally assaulting others on the internet. Make IP and citizen profiles and connect them (through some joint committee that works with the fBI and NSA).

Then lichess can access these records and we can report this 'anonymous' players (i hate how we just accept them as anonymous.. THEY ARE PEOPLE TOO!) and get justice.

Same goes for downloading illegal movies and underage pornography.
Yeah dude just turn off the chat whenever you play against anonymous players. Or just don't play against anonymous players at all.

Can't you just play against registered users only? There is already an option for that.
What is the benefit in playing against anonymous players anyways?
