Players who abandon games repeatedly should be banned

f: Having a seizure near the end of the game.
g: Committing suicide during the match.
h: Understanding the meaning of life and forgetting about the Game.
i: Realizing you are playing a lost position and passive-aggressively make your opponent wait to win.
To moi373737:

Yes, your "e" is fairly obvious, but my only thing there is that I've played correspondence chess in the past and that actually happened. :(

To mikeisapro:

I'd say "f" and "h" are brilliant, but "g" ... I think I'd sacrifice that option in favour of homicide. As for "i", isn't that the same as cutting and running ...

And for the rest of you; glad it helped. :)
their bad decision = your plus rating

waiting a lot = his time
I post here the report I did on someone, you can get inspired by this post to report people with this attitude.

[ Please forbid him the pool and tournaments because it abandons the chessboard whenever that is losing. And it leaves me stuck waiting for his time runs out.
Impossible to avoid him in tournaments and pool. Please forbid him
Or make sure it automatically lose that when leaving the chessboard. ]

Well most of the time you're right Ms Caro. But if the game is very short, then sometimes you can in fact lose most of your time if you don't notice they moved. If the game is very long, then you might have to wait 30 minutes or more.

I have never had a problem with this, and I definitely don't think someone should get banned for it.

Also, they have to wait along with you. If they actually do abandon the game, then you can claim a win or draw.
In longer games, a dead man's switch that has to be clicked every 5 minutes or sthg might help. :p
Just don't play time limits you're not prepared to wait for.

If you're playing something like a 120+30, be prepared for the very real possibility that one move from checkmate, your opponent may not move, and there could be literally 120+ minutes on the clock.

So just don't play that time limit.

A dead man's switch wouldn't work, as a dedicated troll would click it.
